Walvishaai bevrijd van vishaak in de Malediven. On the night of the 3rd of November 2016, the Carpe Vita liveaboard was in Thaa atoll and hoping for whale sharks to show at night at the back of the boat. The first whale shark to appear had a very big fishing hook stuck in the side of his mouth with some rope on it. One of the guests managed to cut the rope off while one Carpe Vita dive team member managed to pull the hook out after several attempts. This amazing footage captures the event and also shows that the whale shark continued feeding after the rescue.
